Nolan has put together my idea of a perfect movie. It is sleek, stylish, smart, engaging, well-crafted, inspiringly directed, cleverly conceived and sports a stellar cast. The number one rule of writing is 'write what you know' and that is what Nolan did. He has written a movie about movie-making. Every character represents a different movie chess piece. Cobb is the Director, Eames is the actor, Fisher the Audience and so on. Likewise the movie is a production in and of itself. Pieces slowly piece together to form the best conjoined plot line I have ever experienced. Is it super complicated or really, really clever? No. Is it clever and just complicated enough to make for a comfortable and fresh viewing, even after the fifth time watching it? Yes. Nolan spent 14 years slowly molding the script for this movie and the characters and the world feels like this is the case. The production of this movie also showcases the beauty of practical effects and reliance on directing and writing instead of CGI and cussing. Simply Superb.
